Hope you had a good Monday for a change & keeping safe in mid of the pandemic. In today’s blog, we will see the different ways you can upgrade your Click Dimension Solutions. As & when Microsoft upgrades or releases new functionalities, the features of Click Dimensions are also tested and upgraded as per need. Sometimes, bugs have been reported & those needs to be fixed. So, depending upon the scenario, click dimensions also release upgrades.
The solution management will let you know your existing version of Click Dimensions vs any upgraded version available within.
Let us see the two ways in which the solution could be updated. These can be found on the Click Dimensions settings page inside CRM.
- Manual Update – This would let you download the solution file & later you need to import the solution file via solution import feature of CRM. If you have customized code at your end & added plugins on top of the OOB feature of Click Dimensions, make sure to check the ‘Overwrite Customization’ step.
- Semi-Automated Update – This would update the solution file & you will be notified once the solution update is done. The ‘Overwrite Customization’ step is mandatory to set to true here.
Finally, all the metadata needs to be published to Click Dimensions as well.
Notification email – The mailbox that will receive confirmation in case a Semi-automated way is chosen.

Note – Full-automated way of updating the solution is now removed. Click Dimensions force upgrades the system in this case. Only recommended for the sandbox environment.
